Where to go?
This weekend I visited Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa. The campus was beautiful. Lots of pretty, old brick buildings. The dorms are the best I've ever seen. Each room is carpeted and has personal air control. I sat in on a few classes (the theory was a joke) and after they had a faculty/student concert. I was not impressed with the two faculty sopranos. Too much sliding for my taste. All in all, Simpson is 3rd on my list of schools, behind Cincinnati and Luther.
I received my music scholarship from Luther on Wednesday. I was a little disappointed. I had been getting calls from many of the faculty there saying I would be receiving a substancial scholarship. The $3,250 and $450 for lessons seemed less than substancial. It was the highest music scholarship available. I was imagining more like $10,000, since Weston Noble told me he designates as much money as he wants. There's still hope left though. My financial package may be more promising.
Still no word from Cincinnati yet. Hopefuly soon.

My vote goes to Luther. I don't know what my vote counts for though.
what are your reasons?
I'm figuring that Simpson is out of the picture, so I'd choose Luther over Cincinnati because:
1) You don't have to live as far from home.
2) You get to have more of a variety of classes in your undergrad years. All music classes might get repetitive.
3) You'll get more solos in the Luther choir than in the Cincy one.
4) You're closer to me, duh :-)
I get 10,000 to play Bass at Concordia, granted it's split over 4 years. None of it however goes to cover lessons. So it's not too bad I guess, depending if it 3k annually.
*Yours isn't too bad, if it's 3k annually
